Kenniqua (00:01)
Okay, so I am trying something new. I am trying cycle syncing. If you've never heard of cycle syncing, it's exactly what it sounds like. It's syncing your cycle as a woman, syncing your cycle to your calendar and just the way that you work, right? And so I decided to try this out. Now, this isn't I've.

I haven't done, I will say that I haven't done extensive amount of research into this, but I'm going to just share in this episode why I am trying out cycle syncing and the benefits that I think that will come from me actually trying cycle syncing as one of my time management systems.

Yeah, so I want to just dive into this. Maybe this is a little personal, but I just wanted to kind of go through and share this because I've looked at a couple of YouTube videos and I've talked to a couple of people on threads about cycle syncing and I see that so many people actually love doing this. And this isn't the first time that I've ever heard about people using and syncing the four phases of their cycle to just the way that they operate in business.

And I just never really dove deep into this at all. Like I never really even considered it. The only reason why I considered it now is because it's the summertime right now as I'm recording this episode, my kids are going back to school in two weeks. I have an older child that's almost 18 and I have one that is seven. And so my youngest child, we moved and we moved. ⁓

here in the last few weeks. And we actually, my youngest daughter is going to be switching schools. And so with that is that she is going to a school that has an earlier start time. So her school used to start at 9 a.m. and now her school starts at 7 a.m. Meaning that I have to start getting up like at 530 in the morning, which I am not used to doing. I'm most of the time a 730 a.m. girlie, right?

And so now my schedule is going to be a little bit different. So what I had to do regarding that is I had to go through, I've gone through, I've mapped out my availability for work, for my business up until the end of the year. So typically what I like to do is kind of do like quarters, but pretty much, you know, we're almost in the fourth quarter here soon anyway. So I just did it.

for the full year to the end of the year. And I went in and I basically, I like to time block as my time management. So I would time block different tasks together. So like me recording this podcast episode, me doing content, me doing client work, client meetings. I go through and I time block that on my Google calendar. And then what I also do is I like to theme my days. So like, for example, I would have like Mondays or like my admin days.

Tuesdays, which is when I'm actually recording this episode is my live days. So all of my like content video type of days, I normally have that day and meeting days. I normally have those days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So, but with that being said, with my new schedule, having those that earlier hours, and because I like to pick my daughter up from the bus, which her bus would now be coming, you know,

earlier in the day, like two o'clock or something like that. Now it's where I'm going to be leaving earlier. So I would be coming to the office earlier and I will be leaving earlier. And so I went through and I, like I said, I did my availability like this is when I'm going to be available for meetings. This is when I'm going to be available for maybe guesting on someone's podcast episode and things like that. Right. And so with the hours.

me having more hours or me having earlier hours, I needed to really go through and focus in on batching content. Now, it's always been a really good idea to batch content, like batch my podcast episodes. Majority of the time, that's an ideal sense, but majority of the time I don't batch. I normally record an episode every single week. Normally takes me about 30, 45 minutes.

And then I'm done with the episode and I kind of continue on. I normally do have a block of time set aside to do content, but I don't necessarily always dedicate it to just doing podcast episodes or YouTube episodes. But with my new schedule, I really do have to focus in on batching. Like I have to use my, all of my time. So like I'll block out on my calendar, like three hours or four hours for creating content.

I really have to start going through and using that time to record my podcast episodes. So that led me into, okay, I've tried batching content before and not a real good effort of me going through and batching content, but I have tried in the past and it seems like before, anytime that I've tried to go through and batch content,

I've always put that task on a day where it was like a week that was my cycle. It just seems like it just so happened to, I always would do that. And so of course I don't like to create content really on when I'm, when I'm on my cycle. I just don't, but I do at this moment, I do still record my one episode, but one episode, 30 minutes. Okay. I can kind of get that done.

I typically do realize that my energy might be a little bit lower. I might not want to do it, but I do do it because I know that your girl got to get content out. And so I'm really dedicated to being consistent on this podcast as well as on YouTube. So I do it, but it's not necessary because I want to do it, especially when I'm on my cycle. Right. And so now, like I said in the past, I would so happen.

to go through and it just lands on the week that I have my cycle. And so what I've done was long story short, cause you're probably like, know what, can we get to it? but so what I've done is I decided like, maybe I should consider cycle syncing. Like everyone says that cycle syncing, well, not everyone that would be extreme, but quite a few people that I've heard from says that cycle syncing is

a really good thing that helps, like it has been game changers for their life. They really changed their life. And I said, okay, let me go through and see if I can give it a try. And so I went on my Google calendar, like I'm actually looking at it now, and I put recurring events on my calendar for the four phases. like I have the, what's it, the Ovaritory phase.

So, and what I did was I just went and tried GPT and I'm like, okay, try GPT, me, try GPT, me the four phases of your cycle. And then I gave it the goal that I wanted to, why I actually wanted to cycle scene to begin with. And so it can help me to be able to group the phase to exactly what it is that I wanted to do. And so for example, like this week here, it has the voluntary phase. So this is the high energy.

visibility, confidence, record. So it's telling me, this is the week that you are, you're good to go. You should be recording. Now I will honestly say, I'm saying this, this is the phase that I'm in this week as I'm recording this episode. And I literally, this is actually my second podcast episode that I'm recording today. I have gone live today. I have done client meanness today. And you know what? I feel like I can record something else today. So this is probably a little accurate, okay?

And so that's what it says I should be doing on those weeks. So what I did is in my Google calendar, I just had that event. So as a rare current event for the whole week, and I just have it repeat every four weeks. And so when I went through and I mapped out my, my calendar, like I said, I theme my days, all I did was put batch record my podcast episodes on every four weeks.

during this phase, right? Because before, like I said, I was just feeling so tired because I was putting it on weeks that I was on my cycle or weeks that just wasn't really good weeks for me. And so, yeah, that's what I decided to do. Now, looking at other videos that I've watched on YouTube, I know that some people mention, like if you're on birth control or something like that, it may not be as accurate. I am on birth control. So I don't know if it's that accurate, but...

I just go based off of appeals, okay? So I can go based off of that to determine which week I'm in. It's kind of like a lot more easier to kind of keep track with. So then the next phase I have is the Lutil phase. I know I'm mispronouncing that, but that's for like my detail work, edit and back end and admin work, right? And so I map that on my calendar too. So when I'm going through, it's allowing me to kind of sync my work.

to what it is that I am going through like physically as a woman and my energy, because I can say for myself.

I can say for myself that I am kind of up and down with like before, this might be too much information, but definitely before like a week before my cycle, I swear to you that I will cry for anything. Like you can say something and it's just like, and I'll just bust out in tears. Like I'll be so, so, so emotional.

⁓ or sometimes it could be the opposite where it'll just take one little thing and I will be so down in the dumps. And so I started to recognize when that was happening. And so I would kind of recognize when I felt like I was being triggered. and I would kind of try to get myself out of it. Like, okay, you're really not sad. Like girl get up or that really wasn't anything bad for you to cry about. You know, it's not even an emotional.

Like, come on, like I could be watching a show and it's like not even something that's super emotional. And then it's like, my goodness, I'm just crying with a whole bunch of tears. And so I realized that I'm on this roller coaster in essence. yeah, so, but so what I've done is from here, which I'm recording this in August through the end of the year is that I created the four phases and then I just matched my themes based, my themes of the days that I normally work on. I just matched that with

where I am in these phases. So like the detail work, edit, backend, admin, that I have there is just normal stuff that I would do. Yeah, so with that particular phase, that's what I'm gonna go through and just batch upload the podcast. So I can batch upload the podcast to YouTube and then I can batch create.

and publish like the social media post, right? And so some things stay steady. Like my client meetings, they pretty much have been steadying because I already, like I said, I already don't have the, lot of availability anyway. So I kind of stayed those for Tuesdays and Thursdays, even though, like I said, when you're on your cycle, whatever, those might not necessarily be like the best times for meetings, but I still be good. Cause typically meetings don't take that long.

And so I'll, I'm still good with that. It's really just about the times that I have to show up and be on for the camera and stuff like that is where it's like, okay, I just don't want to do all of that. So we have that phase and then we have the mentrals, but menstrual phase. Okay. So the menstrual phase is the phase where it's, I have it on here, low energy, rest and reflect. So then I am just doing like, I have my bare minimum.

Items that I want to do during that particular week. I still have it open for doing client meetings, but I'm not really doing any video I am dedicated to doing my youtube live every Tuesday at 12 p.m If you haven't been there, please join me on the Kenniqua Lewter youtube channel 12 p.m eastern I am live on those days. Okay, but

So I still am going to be live. I don't want to skip a week, if all possible. I don't want to just get in the habit of just skipping a week because I'm on my cycle. So I will go through and I will power through. But as far as like recording podcast episodes, I'm not going to be doing that on those particular weeks. And then the last phase is the, what's it, the full occur phase. And this is your rising energy. So I have rising energy plan.

script and strategize. So this is the week where I'm preparing for my batching. So I'm making sure that I batch script my, and I say batch script, but it's actually just like kind of batch bullet point, my podcast episodes and my YouTube, which is pretty much the same thing every now and then again, I will put different episodes on YouTube. Then I will put on the podcast for things that are more visual. Then I will.

you know, kind of put those on there. But that's when I'm going to batch, basically plan what videos I have. I have a million and one ideas in Asana, but just going through and just narrowing them down. So I have now my content themes for each and every month about what I want to talk about. But then it's just like, OK, let's narrow down the topic and let's put the bullet points for what I'm going to be talking about.

I don't script my podcast, I don't script my YouTube videos, I really just have a point. I have one singular point, like I'll have like, well, not one singular point, but I'll have like three, four points, this, this, and this, and this. And then I just go through and I just, yeah, okay? So that's what I like to do, that's what I found works for me. I can't read a script, it is just too much for me, I can't really do all that. And I cannot remember lines, so yeah, I just go through and talk. And then...

I also gonna go through and just plan, batch plan my social media post and then my email newsletter and then cycle back through. So I'm gonna be keeping you guys up to date of how this is actually feeling. Like literally, like I said, I'm in the, the, all ovulatory phase right now with high energy. And literally I'm recording this episode. It's at 4 p.m. I do not normally record late.

I am a morning person when it comes to recording, because I feel like that's when I have my best energy. And you know, I actually feel pretty good. Like, you know, I don't know if it's one of those placebo things. Like, it's like, okay, you know, it's your high energy week. So therefore you're pretending or you have that placebo effect that is your high energy week. I don't know, but either way, I do feel pretty good this week. So we're going to see how this works.

I'm going to let you know as I'm kind of going through this and seeing how this schedule is going to work for me. Ultimately, my goal with this is solely really just making sure that I can batch content. So I don't really have any other expectations at this point. Like, this is when I'm going to do these particular workouts or these workouts. Honestly, I haven't gotten that deep into it. I really just wanted to have a good week, a week

that I knew or had at least a good idea that I would be able to go through and batch out like three to four podcasts or YouTube episodes. And so I'm gonna let you know exactly how that goes, how this cycle syncing goes. If you've ever tried cycle syncing, definitely let me know. I would love to know your experience with it. If you're listening to a podcast, you can send me a message on Instagram or text me from the, from.

the player on your podcast or just if you're listening to the video, just put it in the comments. I would love to know what your experience is with it and if there's any tips that you can give to me to help me to be successful in this. Like I would absolutely love that. But again, thank you so much listening to this episode. I know that this might have been like a little bit more personal episode. I hope not too much for you. Yeah, I hope not too much information.

But yeah, I appreciate you joining me and listening in again I'm K'Nique Woldeger, system strategist and honey book educator that helps you organize and streamline your service-based business. definitely ⁓ go ahead and subscribe. Go ahead and rate the podcast and I'll see you in the next episode.
