Systems Rehab | Systems and Strategies for Online Service Providers
Welcome to Season 2: What I’ve Been Up To + What’s Coming for You
In this episode, I’m opening up about why I took a month and a half off from social media and podcasting—and what’s changed since then. This wasn’t just a random break; it was a much-needed pause to reset, reflect, and realign how I show up and serve. I talk about how I was stuck in a cycle of creating content just to check a box, and what I’ve done to make sure my content is now more intentional, engaging, and aligned with both my business and my audience.
I also share some exciting updates, including the move into my new office space—designed specifically for in-person events and workshops—and how that fits into the bigger picture of my business evolution. Plus, I give you a behind-the-scenes look at what’s coming up in Season Two: new guest interviews, deeper conversations around systems, and fresh strategies to help you simplify and scale your service-based business.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by content creation or disconnected from your business vision, this episode will give you the permission and perspective to reset your systems and show up with intention.

Kenniqua Lewter (00:00)
I have not been posting on social media. I haven't uploaded anything to the podcast in quite some time. It's been about a month and a half or so. And so I just wanted to do this episode to really just catch up with you and let you know exactly what's been going on. Your girl actually has definitely still been working.
is just that I haven't been actually posting. And so in today's episode, we're going to call this the first episode of season two, because yeah, because I took a whole month and a half off. I just feel it's just right to kind of go through and just just put a different season to it. When I first started the podcast, I didn't think that I was going to do seasons that I was going to be posting every single week.
And I still plan on posting every single week, but I just think that because I took such a long break, just go ahead and post it into season. So I'm gonna go ahead and get you caught up. I'm gonna be talking about exactly why I went through when I took a break off of social media, YouTube, posting on the podcast, even my newsletter, why I did not do that for about a month and a half. I'm gonna cover what I did. As you notice, if you're watching the video, we are in a different place. So I wanna talk about that a little bit.
I want to talk about how I went through. did some offer revamps, website revamps, and what I've been doing on my time off as far as with the podcast and some of the guests that I have. So I definitely want to show some of, tell you about some of that and an offer to really help you to go through and help you streamline your business even more.
Let's go ahead and dive into the episode. In case you're new here, I am K'Nique. I'm a system strategist. I'm a honey book educator that's based in Virginia. And so why I went through and took a month and a half off of not posting anything, like not posting to social media, not posting Instagram, none of that. The only place that I was really active and that I absolutely love is going to be threads. So I love threads. was active on threads every single day. That doesn't stop, but
The reason why I started posting is because I felt like after I've been active on YouTube for a while, for about five years, and I got to a place about March or so this year that I felt like I was just going through and I was just checking a box that I was literally just creating content to say that I did the thing that I was supposed to do, which is upload a video or upload a podcast episode.
And I didn't want to feel like that anymore. I didn't feel like I wanted to do that anymore. I wanted my content to not only resonate with you all, but I wanted to create content that I felt was just a little bit better, if I will. Like I wanted it to be where it was better engaging. If I would say that I feel like the content itself is good.
the information that I'm talking about, but I want to just share a little bit more about what it is, like maybe that I do during the day, even, even the things that I'm doing in my business from my point of view of even revamping systems in my business. want to share that more of that type of content with you, especially when it comes to short form content, like literally my Instagram strategy that I had before it was like, it was trash. Okay.
Only thing that I was doing, I was taking long form content and I was repurposing my long form content, like my podcast and my YouTube videos. And I was just breaking it into short clips. And that was the only thing that I was posting on Instagram. And though I think that that is still a pretty valid strategy for trying to get people to watch a YouTube videos as well as watch the podcast episodes. I just don't really feel like that.
that to be the only format that I was creating was enough of what I wanted to do onto Instagram. I felt like I wanted to create something just a little bit more engaging when it comes to that. So I wanted to start putting a little bit more effort into my social media strategy. Like I said, particularly my short form video strategy, my Instagram, as well as I'm not on TikTok or anything like that, but.
Just putting up forth a little bit more effort to kind of switching out those formats and just making the information that I'm sharing and the stories that I'm sharing, which I plan on sharing just a lot. Like I said, more stories of behind the scenes to really show case how I'm utilizing systems and my own business and in my life and how I'm even revamping my systems just to go through and fit this new season of life.
And that kind of leads me into revamping my service offerings and like redoing our website. So when I did the 12 week year, if you have been on the podcast or you watch any of my previous videos, I did a 12 week year, I read the 12 week year book. And so that's the framework for which I use when I go through and I do my goal setting. So.
I did my 12 week year, I'm actually going into another 12 week year that I have coming up starting in next week. So that one's gonna be solely focused mostly on marketing and visibility, which means that your girl had to come back and start doing videos and start doing podcast episodes again. But I want to again, align my...
what I'm offering and what I stand for, like this hill that I plan on standing on as far as systems and why entrepreneurs like myself and you, why we need systems not only just in our business, but also in our life. Because if we're working, whether we have a team or whether we're working together, or whether we're working by ourselves, systems play a vital role in how we go through and not only.
operate with our clients, but also with our family. And it allows for us to be able to have that freedom that we want in order to be able to attempt to try to do it all, right? To try to do the things with the family, with the friends, with your business, and not to have anything fall through the cracks for the most part. And so that's the hill that I plan on standing on. And so my previous website,
had so many different offers. Like I was offering client management. was offering HoneyBook support, project management. I was offering website design and some other things, right? And so though I can go through and I can most certainly offer every single one of those things. So there's things that I know how to do and I'm great at doing those things. It's like, what do I want to be known for? And that's something during this month and a half that I really wanted to just kind of sit with.
Like what Konequa, what do you want to be known for? What do you want to really, really, really help people with and help your ideal client with? And really a boil down to systems. I want to help people to implement systems into their business and their life, to help them to be able to simplify things and to be able to run a business that fits them.
and something that they love and something that they don't feel overwhelmed by and they don't feel the urgent need to constantly be in their business because of the lack of systems. And so I decided to go through and I'm like, you know what? I am going to go through and I'm going to change this website. And not only did I change the website. So the new website is to kind of let you know. So the new website, is officially up. There are a couple of things.
that I do need to add to the website. Like, so I do wanna go through and I need to add like a chat box. My previous website, it did have a chat box. And so I wanna add a chat box to it. I'm thinking about using a tool called VideoAsk for our quote unquote chat, where it allows for you to be able to do video messages and it allows for you to be able to do like the text part of it too.
So I may be implementing that onto my website, but for now there is no type of like chat box that I have on my website like I did on my previous website. But my website is called yoursystemspro.com. my website before was katiejonescs.com. But.
And I've had that same domain. I'm going to continue to own that main domain, but I'm just not going to use that domain anymore. So if you go to my own website, it's going to redirect you to go to my new website. But the reason why I decided to go through and just revamp my website, so I scrapped all of my offers that I had and I revamped them. And I revamped them to reflect the way that I actually want to grow with my clients and work with my clients.
So for example, now on the website, we basically have three main things that we're offering, which is our HoneyBook support services. You know your girl loves HoneyBook. And I have our CEO system snapshot, which is an audit of your systems where I go through and I audit three of your main core systems that you have. So those are broken down into client management,
project management and then also time and calendar management because that's very important too. Like where are you actually going through and spending your time? And then I also offer our CEO systems development where I'll go through and take your biggest bottleneck that you have and we go through and we start creating systems around that bottleneck. So it's pretty much three offers that we have, drastically different from all the services that I was offering before.
And I just find that just offering just these services are going to allow for me to be able to number one, become known for a particular thing and really to be able to hone in of how I want you not only work with my ideal client, but also to be able to support them and to really help them the way that I want, which is one thing that I find over the years of doing system support. One of the things that I found that's
very difficult for a lot of people, which is totally understandable. is the implementation of things. A lot of people, we know what to do. And this is for, you could take this scenario and almost anything. We know exactly what to do. Like we know how to go through and lose weight, but it's the implementation of the things that we need to actually go through and lose weight, for example, is what stops us from being able to do that. And so the implementation is something that I'm
very, very, very, very, very leaning into with our new services is to make sure that I can go through and I can help my clients to be able to go through and implement actually once and for all to get systems actually into their business. So I revamped all my offers on my website and I changed over our website domain because of my new marketing plan, like I mentioned, the marketing plan that I'm going to be doing now.
is going to be a lot, a lot of visibility. So I really want to go in and really get to the grind of it. Like back in the day, I used to do so many different videos. I used to go live all the time and I really want to go back to doing that, which I am. So I want to start going back. I'm going to be doing live videos here on YouTube. I'm going to be posting on the podcast, posting on YouTube. I also want to go live on Instagram. I want to get to the grind of it.
and really start going through and just posting my content, creating content for my ideal clients. But because I'm doing that, I do also find it much easier to be able to go through and say my website domain. So like before my website, kdjonescs.com, it's not really easy to say, and it's not really easy for people that are listening to really commit it to memory, even after hearing it a few times.
it's still gonna take you a while to commit it to memory. Like literally even my husband says, what is that, the web address again? So like if he's saying it and he works with me often and he can't necessarily just commit it to memory after all these years, how can I expect people when they're going and they're listening to me live for me to be able to go through and say it and for them to be able to go through and remember it? So I changed it, I bought, actually I'm one of the people that buy a.
couple of domains just to kind of have it in my pocket. So I did go by yoursystemspro.com. So yoursystemspro.com. And so that's our new web address. And that's where you can find all of our system related services that I just mentioned to you. Okay. So I did a revamp during this particular time again, website, I even changed the brand color. for the most part,
The brand colors are pretty much the same with the exception of I took out like our tour course, like our till, cause you probably see in my background, if you're looking at the video, that I love till, it's my favorite color. But I took out the till for like a stage, cause I'm like, you know, I'm feeling kind of, I'm feeling kind of earthy, you know? So I'm like, you know what? I want to replace that with like a sage. And so that's what I went for. I went for a really simple website design because I'm like, if you ever went to my other website as a website designer,
at heart, it was just a lot going on. And I said, you know what? I want to make a nice website that's straight to the point, but that's also is simple. I don't want a whole bunch going on. And that's exactly what I designed. You go to my website, your systems pro.com. You'll see that this is a simple website. It is simple. It's straight to the point. It gives you what you need. It tells you what you need to do. It has a call to actions on it, but it is simple. Okay. It's not over complicated. It's not all of these bells and whistles and all of this stuff going on. It's not, it's none of that.
So that's what I did. Another thing too, is that something very, very huge that I did during my break, my month and a half long break. And that is that, as you can see, that we are in a different place if you're watching this on video. And I moved from my previous office. So if you ever watch any of my YouTube videos, you probably recognize the, when I had on the background, the white with the gold polka dot background.
So I have moved from that space. So long story short, okay, we're going to make this one a short one. The space that I'm in and the space that I had there. So the space that I previously had, the one with the gold, the white and the gold polka dots, I have been in that office space for three years coming. It would have been coming up on four years. The space that I have now where I'm actually located in now I've been here.
owned this space, rented, I've been renting this space for a year. However, I never really used this space. So if you're kind of putting the math together, I have been renting two commercial spaces. Now you probably say, well, why would you do that? Okay. So just a quick backstory is that the space that I'm in right now,
It is a bigger space than the space that I previously had that I recorded most of my videos in. This particular space, I had the desire to start like another business somewhat. So it was going to be like another branch of my business because I was going through and I was creating so much content and I had so much equipment. I'm like, you know what, what would be a really good idea is if I would start like a content studio.
And because I was seeing content studios kind of popping up everywhere. And I'm like, you know what? I'm going to start a content studio. And so I found a space that literally this building that I'm in now is literally right in front of my old office. So it was perfect. I'm like, I could just walk between the two offices. Perfect. And the difference of price wasn't that much. this one was like a hundred dollars more than my office.
This was the plan. The plan was that I would rent this space for people to come and film their content, their YouTube videos and their podcasts here, as well as they can host their own intimate events because we have like another section. This one, this space here for contacts, this space here is 900 square feet. And so my other space was 500 square feet.
So with this space, we have another section where we have tables and chairs set up for us to be able to host in-person events, as well as people that live where I live, which I'm in Virginia, people that live where I live, they can also rent out this space to book and use it for their intimate events, for like workshops and book clubs or whatever they wanted to use it for, right? And so initially that was the idea. That's what I thought I was going to do.
Okay. Now that did not really work out as planned. I didn't market it the way that it needed to be marketed. But also too, I actually literally just, overestimated the capacity that I had to go through and market it. So it was very difficult for me to continue to market my systems business and then to market it say, Hey, you can book out my studio to be able to do X, Y, Z.
okay. So over the year, I didn't have anyone book this space, this whole space. I didn't have anyone book this space for recording podcasts or recording. No, well, that's not true. I have one person, but that person was, they knew my mom and so they booked it because of that. So yeah, that might be a little bit different, but so I had one person to book the space for recording their YouTube video and their podcast, right? I have one monthly client.
that did use this space one time where we did a couple of, content pieces for her, for her business. She did that one time. Okay. And she didn't even read it out because I just let her do it for free because she's a monthly client. Okay. So, but I did have like two people to book the space to host their intimate events, but I'm not charging a lot for someone to go through and do these events. And so I didn't make it run.
Okay. I did not make the rent on this place, meaning that I had to go through and I had to pay the rent for my office and for this space, two spaces, two spaces and two different internets. And so it was a lot. So long story short, I decided to go through and just, it just made sense for me to go through and let me just move my stuff from my office and let me go through. And I was still in a lease for the one at the office.
and I'm like, look, it just makes sense for me just to move over here to the bigger space where I am right now. It just makes sense. And so that's what I did. I was able to find someone to take over my last, year of my lease at my office. And so now I'm here, I'm here at the studio. So this is where I'm to be doing all of my videos, but it was definitely a lot during that month and a half to get everything moved because I'm going through, I'm getting everything situated. Of course, there are certain things that I had.
double of like literally between my office space and this space, I had like six desks, okay? Six desks. So I'm going through to figure out which desk do I want to use? What desk am I going to sell? So like literally I have this desk that I'm talking to you on right now with a podcast, which is my standing desk, which is good because I can stand up if I ever want to stand up during recording or doing live. But then I also have my other desk back there, which is actually my working desk.
And the other desk I just went through and I just solved those desks. So it was a lot to kind of get it moved over as far as what am I gonna keep over here? When am I gonna move? What am I gonna sell? What am I gonna donate? Because I donated a whole bunch of stuff as well too. But the beauty of it is because I'm over here in this new space is that now of course no one can go through and rent this space to like record their YouTube videos or their podcasts. But I'm so excited because now that I'm in this space full time,
And I have the space to be able to go through and open up workshops. Like I have seating area for 16 people. So I am gonna be opening up workshops and in-person events, which I've already been doing. I've already been opening up in-person events. I've had networking events here in my studio office, but I'm also gonna be hosting.
live events right here in my office. that's going to be really fun. So definitely if you are in the Virginia area or you're close by and you want to go through and travel, that's going to be perfect because then you'll be able to go through. when I'm hosting something in person, you will be able to come to my actual office that's going to be pretty cool. So I'm very excited about that. Now, some other things that are coming up.
for us is in season two of this podcast is that of course we're gonna be talking more and more and more about systems and not only about systems as far as business, but systems as far as your life because the life systems, like I explained before, life systems play a valuable part in what we do as business owners. If our house of what we got going on with our house and our family and our friends,
we're not supporting those actions and those things through systems that can also filter down to what we have going on in our business. And even though the whole work life balance, like I actually talked to you, Crystal P. Sherrell, which we did a podcast episode and she talked about, there's no such thing as work life balance, which is a great episode. I can't wait to go through and share that with you all, but those systems of having life systems and business systems are so important. So I am going to be showing.
and sharing with you in the upcoming episode more things about systems and not only just about, you should have this particular system, blah, zay, blah, but also showing my systems. And again, showing behind the scenes of how I operate throughout the day, not just necessarily in my business, but also in my life. What are things that I'm revamping in my life and what systems am I changing for that? And just showing you different perspectives and giving you ideas of things that you can do
to completely go through and streamline your business and your life. And believe me, I don't have it all figured out. Like I'm going through, like I was talking with my husband and I'm literally going through like, okay, I need to redo this because this system here of how we get ready in the morning, this is just not working. This can be better. And sometimes, especially when it comes to life systems, sometimes we just figure that this is just the way that it's supposed to be. This is just the way that I am or the way that it's supposed to be. that's...
It's not necessarily true. Certain aspects about yourself, they may be, okay, you're like that to a certain degree, but some things it's literally just in the system. The routines that you have, the processes that you have, that if you switch those things, you could just feel the calmness that comes over you, the peace and having overwhelmed, kind of slide down your back when you're not having to do certain things and your days can just function way better.
We're going be talking about more of that up here in season two of more podcast episodes and season two, you I'm just telling you, I named this season two. Like I said, I wasn't going to split up the seasons. I guess splitting up seasons are really good just because when you split up seasons, it does allow for you to be able to go through and take a break. I don't know how long season two was going to last. It's, it's might be a while. We might be in season two for six months to a year. I don't know.
But I hope you are here for the journey and for the ride. And I have some wonderful, wonderful, wonderful guest episode.
Even though I wasn't actually going through and posting on social media, I wasn't posting on podcasts. Your girl was actually still working. Like I was still, I was still recording episodes. I literally have another session that I have to record tomorrow. So I got a chance to go through. I'm just going to tell you about a couple of them that I have coming up just to get you excited for what's coming on season two. But I got a chance to sit down with Alicia Powell, who is the founder of Pixie stock. Okay.
I got a chance to sit down with her when she's talking all about the content systems, how to put content systems. So we all know nowadays like content is a part of our marketing strategies at some point. Like we're putting out content somehow, whether you decide to do YouTube podcasts, you're posting on LinkedIn, you're doing Instagram, TikTok, whatever it is that you're doing, content is more likely some part of your actual content strategy. And so she dives deep into how to go through and create a content system.
that actually supports you and your business. I talked about that I sat down with Crystal P. Sherrell when she talked about work-life balance and the details of that and how it's really no such thing and what you can actually do to create something that works for you in your life.
I even got coached.
So I even got coached recently. This was last week. I got coached. I did have a guest on Cassandra who actually went through and coached me. So it is so much that we have packed for season two. I just felt the need that I like, you know, let me come on to the podcast. Let me go ahead and record something and put something up to let you know why I have been on break. I have been MIA for the last month and a half.
And I figured, know what, now's the time to go through and record something that way when I segue into season two content and we start really getting down and dirty and in the weeds of getting our system set up that you are not like, okay, what happened, Kenequah? Now you know what happened, okay? This is what happened. I was trying to really sit down because I wanna make sure that I provide you with the best content possible.
But I feel really good about my messaging. I feel really good about the offers that we have. These offers were really crafted about what people are coming to me for, how I'm actually working with my clients now. And I feel like the offers that we have now allows for me to be able to support my ideal client at their highest level now.
I'm really happy about it. Again, there's probably some tweaks and stuff that I'll be making along the way, but right now I'm really happy in the direction that we are going in. So welcome to season two. I'm gonna be uploading, we're back now. So I'm gonna be uploading new videos.
every single week podcast episodes every single week to really help you to be able to organize and automate systems to simplify your business and life. So please be sure to tune in here on the systems rehab podcast. You can also go to my YouTube channel, which I did change the name of is just under my name. So it's Konequa Luter, L-A-W-T-E-R, because the girl finally got her name legally changed.
That took me a while after getting married to get my name legally changed, but it's now officially changed. So that is what the new YouTube channel is going to be about. Now, if you want to know what exactly is working in your business and what is not, then I encourage you to go to my website, yoursystemspro.com and check out my system CEO snapshot. Okay. So this is going to be your first step.
to a more streamlined business, So inside the CEO snapshot, this is going to be perfect for online service providers who are ready to lead with clarity, have a streamlined their operations and improve client management and create a business that runs smoothly. So go ahead and snag your spot to your system CEO snapshot so I can do an audit of your systems.
Again, I go through and I audit three different systems to make sure that everything is working and intertwined together beautifully. So that's gonna be your client management system, project management system, and we're going to audit your time and calendar management to see how that's working for you and your business as well. If you have any questions about this episode, definitely feel free. If you're listening to it on the podcast, you can send me a text on the podcast, wherever you're listening to the podcast.
